About

Table Tennis Coach Ben Wolski

One of the most gifted junior development table tennis coaches in the U.S., Ben Wolski is a clinic assistant to the National Coach of the Year and two-time Olympian, Lily Yip.  His international coaching credentials include studies as a coach at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and the Zheng Ding International Training Center in China, which is a Chinese National Team Training Center. Currently, he is head coach of the college men's and women's teams at Gwynedd-Mercy College near Philadelphia.

Coach Wolski's team-building skills are evident both on and off court. He was on the planning team that won the winning bid for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Table Tennis Trials for the City of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Sports Congress, and Drexel University. The event was an overwhelming success, bringing in over 5000 spectators and national media coverage while raising the bar for teamwork and cooperation both inside and outside the sport. Coach Wolski was also recently interviewed on WHYY with Marty-Moss Coane on the NPR show Radio Times with National Coach and Olympian Sean O'Neill. Coach Wolski holds a B.A. from the College of Wooster in Ohio.

Coach Wolski is a USA Table Tennis-certified coach and offers classes and private lessons for juniors ranging from 7-18 years old.

Why I love teaching table tennis:

Coaching high level table tennis to young people requires a very special set of interpersonal, technical, and communication skills (it is a very different skill set than just playing matches and games in a tournament). You must have patience, empathy, teaching skills, and a genuine passion for the game(along with the ability to work with kids/college students). There is no job on earth that fits my unique skill sets better-than teaching kids this wonderful game; and no greater joy than seeing a student's eyes light up when they learn a new technical skill.
